Why We Built This Site
Michigan gives the public broad access to court records. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file you want. The elected Grand Traverse County Clerk, Samuel Gedman, also serves as Court Clerk of the 13th Circuit Court and keeps the civil, criminal, and domestic records filed there, along with vital records like birth, death, and marriage certificates. The 86th District Court handles misdemeanors, traffic tickets, and civil infractions. A separate Probate Court manages estates, guardianships, and mental-health matters. The Sheriff's Office and its Corrections Division run the jail and track custody status through MI-VINE. Add the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Michigan State Police, which runs the ICHAT criminal-history system, and the picture gets crowded fast. We pull together the contact details, search portals, fee schedules, and request steps for each of these offices into one place.

- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
